Is brow lamination damaging to the brows?

The chemical process of breaking the disulphide bonds within the brow hair is damaging to the hair if not performed correctly. This means that the treatment result or condition of the client’s brows is very much in the control of the user of the products. Over-processing the time on the brows means the bonds are either not able to be reformed well enough or they break so far that they over-process. The inclusion of Elleeplex ReGen Next Gen partnered with our unique lamination formula in the lamination lotion offers moisture, nourishment, and support to the brow hair while the bonds are being broken in order to soften the hair and provide support.

I’m allergic to lash and brow tints – Can I have a brow lamination?

The ingredients found most likely to cause sensitivities from a lash or brow tint are not the same ingredients as found in a lamination product so performing a brow lamination is safe as long as it is not followed with a brow tint. For all clients that express sensitivities in previous services it is best to review if they have had an ingredient allergy test performed by a dermatologist or allergist. There could be more than one ingredient that they are sensitive to and of course performing a patch test is mandatory.

What can I do if my client’s brows are over-processed and damage occurs?

You could offer Elleeplex aftercare or Elleeplex Hyaluronic Boost Serum as a conditioning and nourishing product for your client’s brows that they can apply daily to help with not only with nourishment but also with styling. This will help to support the brows and offer much needed boost to repair and regrow them into healthy brows again.

Refer to our Processing Times for a optimum results.

Only laminate the brows every 6-8 weeks, once the previous lamination has completely worn off.

What can I do if my client’s brows have not laminated enough?

There are a few things to consider: Firstly, you must check the product expiry date and if the product has been properly stored. Secondly, check the ethnicity of your client’s background, perhaps the strength or genetic structure of the hair means they require a longer processing time. Thirdly, consistent placement of the lotion and appropriate amount of stretch applied to the brow hairs.

Can you fix unevenly laminated eyebrows?

Some clients may have a stronger follicular direction in one brow. If you notice this, be sure to note it on their client card so you can adjust at future appointments by processing the stronger brow for a longer time. If you find the lamination is uneven, you can also spot treat any areas of the brow that are more resistant to ensure a balanced result.

Can my client wear brow make-up?

Yes, your client can wear brow makeup after a brow lamination, but they should avoid brow cosmetics and any brow styling for the first 48 hours to follow the aftercare instructions. It’s important not to touch the brows during this period. If they’ve received a tint with their lamination, there’s no need for additional products initially. After the first 48 hours, they can begin using Elleeplex Advanced Aftercare or Hyaluronic Boost Serum to nourish and style their brows, as well as Elleefix Styling Wax to shape and hold them in place. At this point, they can also resume their regular brow cosmetics, but will need to style the brows back into place.

When should I re-book my client for a re-lamination?

Clients should generally wait 6–8 weeks or longer between brow lamination appointments, though individual brow growth cycles can vary. Brows often take longer to regrow than lashes, so if you notice significant new brow growth, it may be best to suggest rebooking for sooner. Conversely, some clients may experience slower regrowth and only need a lamination every 8–10 weeks.

What is the aftercare of a brow lamination?

Refer to our Brow Lamination Aftercare instructions.

Is it safe to receive a brow lamination while pregnant?

It’s important to consider a few factors when it comes to brow lamination during pregnancy. Due to fluctuating hormone levels, pregnant clients might have increased sensitivity to products, which could lead to irritation. If a client has had a lamination before pregnancy with no reaction, the client is eligible to receive a brow lamination. In the event of a reaction, a pregnant woman is not able to take antihistamines so ensuring they are made aware of these factors is important.
